Although lower than many French ski resorts, Morzine benefits from a favourable microclimate and its links to the higher slopes of Avoriaz provide access to reliable snow conditions throughout the season. There are plenty of gentle runs and dedicated learning areas where beginners can build their confidence, while more experienced skiers have the whole Portes du Soleil to explore. Families will appreciate the safe, fun areas specifically designed for children, complete with a huge range of ski schools to choose from. If your legs can cope, Morzine offers night skiing too.

The Parc des Dérêches has a swimming pool, spa and fitness facilities, while the resort also offers ice hockey, shops, bars and regular winter entertainment. Torchlight descents, fireworks and live music add to the atmosphere throughout the season, with the popular Dixie Bar one of the livelier spots in town.
Morzine also hosts a varied programme of events throughout the winter, from Christmas festivities and sporting events to live music and themed celebrations. Combined with the excellent skiing, busy town centre and lively après-ski scene, there is plenty happening both on and off the mountain.
